More drama for celebrity athlete Tiger Woods created by his family?

Celebrity athlete Tiger Woods has certainly taken his share of well-deserved criticism in the 11 months since his highly publicized SUV accident outside his home, the revelation of several marital indiscretions and subsequent divorce from celebrity model Elin Nordegren. However, when the criticism comes from family members, it becomes a bit more personal.

In the early morning hours of November 27, 2009, celebrity athlete Tiger Woods was involved in an incident that would shake his star-studded world to the core and irrevocably change his life.

Celebrity athlete Tiger Woods has past issues surface once again during Ryder Cup play.

In the days following the accident outside his home in Windemere, FL, Tiger Woods would be revealed as a cheater, lose millions in corporate sponsorships and enter into a sex rehab clinic in Mississippi. He would later end up in divorce, as celebrity model Elin Nordegren ended the marriage and the celebrity couple’s life together.

Now, a full 10 months after the incident, celebrity athlete Tiger Woods’ half-brother, Earl Woods Jr., decided to add his two cents worth regarding his sibling’s behavior. In an interview with FOX Phoenix affiliate KSAZ, Woods Jr. reveals that their father would have been “disappointed” in Tiger’s behavior.

The timing of Earl Jr.’s statements are being called into question, especially considering it occurred on the evening before the start of the Ryder Cup match between the United States and Europe.

Earl Jr. also wasn’t shy in describing his celebrity athlete half-brother Tiger’s drive to win, specifically saying that it came from Tiger’s mother, Tida.

“Tiger has a very strong drive to punish,” Earl Woods Jr. said. “Tida, my stepmother, has a very strong, you know, ‘embarrass them, humiliate them, drag them through the mud approach to life.’”

Certainly doesn’t sound like a phrase of endearment regarding his stepmother, does it?

Tiger was paired up with fellow celebrity athlete Steve Stricker this weekend during Ryder Cup play, winning their first two matches before losing the third this morning to the European team of Luke Donald and Lee Westwood. The U.S. currently trail in the match 9.5-6.5, with Monday’s singles matches to determine the winner.

Earl Woods Jr. is no stranger to golf or to celebrity athlete status. His daughter, Cheyenne, currently plays golf at Wake Forest University and has fast become of the more acclaimed female amateur golfers in the country.

Tiger’s half-brother has implored him to reach out to his family, however Tiger reportedly has not spoken to Earl Jr. since 2006, and after his latest comments, isn’t likely to reach out now.
